High speed is endemic on Hwy. 97

Something about cruising through Central Oregon makes highway drivers want to put the pedal to the metal.

Troopers ticketed 21 motorists for driving 100 mph or faster on Highway 97 last year, according to statistics released last week.

Of those, one-third were pulled over along the stretch....
