Federal, state authorities blame suspects for 17 attacks in West

The toppling of an electrical transmission tower east of Bend and the arson fire that destroyed a Redmond horse slaughterhouse were part of a "vast ecoterrorism conspiracy" in Oregon and four other western states, federal prosecutors announced Friday.
