IRS to notify taxpayers of frozen refunds status

Wyden questions validity of fraud investigations

WASHINGTON - In response to thousands of complaints, the Internal Revenue Service says this March it will begin notifying taxpayers whose refunds are frozen pending completion of fraud investigations.
