Bend boarders fly high

Two local riders advance to slopestyle finals

Ashley Thornton was distracted.

The snowboarder from Bend had to work late at her job at The Athletic Club of Bend on Wednesday night, and then she dislocated her shoulder during her first run of slopestyle qualifying at the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix on Thursday at Mount Bachelor.
