The woman who cut my hair was complaining that Bend is getting too crowded. Turns out, she grew up on a sprawling ranch east of Burns. She misses the unfettered fishing access, the wide open, unpeopled places.

I have one word of advice for her.

Ochocos.

Those mountains to the east of Prineville....
