Bend adopts Katrina-damaged Hattiesburg, Miss., as sister city

Imagine the largest tree in Drake Park uprooted, snapped off like a toothpick and hurled through the city in 165 mph winds.

Now, multiply it by several thousand trees.

That is how Bend resident Jane Langston described what she saw in Hattiesburg, Miss.
