Lacking backer, World Cup event turns into training run for 2006; may return in 2007

For the past four years, the top mushers in the world have converged on Central Oregon each January.

Most are not likely to return, however, in January 2006.

The Atta Boy 300 World Cup Sled Dog Race will not be staged next year, race coordinators announced this week.
