Outage caused by faulty cable

Close to 300 homes in the neighborhood around the River's Edge Golf Course in Bend lost power Tuesday at 4 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for Pacific Power. The outage, caused by a faulty underground cable, lasted about six hours.

It was unknown exactly why the cable malfunctioned, but crews....
