Gyroplane crashes near Bend Airport

Pilot and passenger walk away from crash with only minor injuries

A small experimental aircraft crashed early Sunday afternoon near the Bend Municipal Airport, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office said.

No one was seriously injured.

A craft known as a gyroplane crashed off Nelson Road, just south of the airport runway, at about 12:20 p.m.
