REDMOND - Center stage at the Deschutes County Fair, 22-year-old Katie Wagner could barely contain herself.

Bubbling over upon being named this year's High Desert Idol, the Bend resident hugged everyone within reach, including runner-up Reuben Sampson and a competition host.
