A mere two bites into his first jalapeno, 14-year-old Kolbe Ford's eyes began to water and he yelled out for more milk.

"It was way too hot," said Kolbe, a contestant in an jalapeno-eating competition at the Deschutes County Fair Friday afternoon. "I started crying."
