Bend's Downs begins poorly at U.S. Women's Amateur

ROSWELL, Ga. - Seldom, if ever, has Kailin Downs found herself so far from the top of the leaderboard.

The 22-year-old from Bend on Monday ground out an 18-hole round of 97 - 25 strokes over par - and finds herself dead last in a field of 155 at the 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.
