By 11 a.m. Saturday - the time she normally wakes up on the weekend - 14-year-old Alecsy Christensen was already hard at work.

The Bend teen sat on the top step of a flight of outdoor stairs to an apartment at Healy Heights, carefully brushing green paint onto the railing.
