Prineville annexes 819 acres

Prineville city officials recently annexed 819 acres of a roughly 1,000-acre site that Bend-based development company Brooks Resources plans to turn into a mixed-use development.

The bulk of the site lay within the city's urban growth boundary when Brooks Resources bought the property.
