Officials ID body found in barrel

Authorities: La Pine woman killed

The state medical examiner confirmed on Tuesday that human remains found in a barrel in southern Deschutes County were those of 40-year-old Brenda Kay Middlekauff of La Pine.

Authorities say Middlekauff, who went missing in July 2002, died in a violent manner, and they are investigating her....
