Bend Masters place first at '05 Hayward

Three Bend Masters athletes had strong showings at the 2005 Hayward Classic, which was held Saturday and Sunday in Eugene.

The event was one of the Oregon Association Masters Championships.

Competing in the ages 50-54 group, Steve Banton won first place in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet 10....
