SALEM - A rafting run through frothing rapids on the Deschutes and other Oregon rivers can be a thrilling, bucking, refreshing ride, and newly approved rules for commercial river guides seeks to make the trip safer.

The rules - now headed to the desk of Gov. Ted Kulongoski - will require guides....
