Grant seeks to prevent teen suicide

Deschutes, Benton counties to create pilot health programs

If a teenager has attempted suicide once, experts say, the likelihood is that he or she will try it again.

"The greatest predictor of suicide in a young adult is a previous suicide attempt," said Dan Peddycord, administrator of the Des-chutes County Health Department.
