Open burning in Deschutes County to end May 31

Backyard fires in Deschutes County have to be out by sunset on May 31, county fire officials have announced.

A burn ban is already in place for Bend.

The closure represents an early end to the open-burn season in the Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District.
