Deschutes panel OKs fiscal plan

Rising tax revenue, state funds allow budget to increase 5%

The Deschutes County Budget Committee on Friday approved a $227 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year - a 5 percent increase from the current year's budget of $216 million.
