Tower owner may face fines

New city rule could punish company with $50,000 levy

The owner of a new communications tower on Awbrey Butte faces nearly $50,000 in fines under a new city rule.

The Chackel Family LLC pleaded not guilty earlier this year to charges that it failed to build a fence as required around the 300-foot tower.

A municipal court judge will hear the case....
