Cougar eludes capture

Search with dogs called off late Wednesday, to resume today

Bend police officers and a wildlife specialist used hounds to track a cougar on Awbrey Butte on Wednesday evening, after receiving a report of the animal in the 2600 block of Northwest Three Sisters Drive.

The search was called off at about 8:15 p.m. because of lack of light. Authorities planned....
