Meet Bud Balone of Prineville: He flies, he sails, he speaks his mind. And, he recently won an airplane mechanic award.

Talk to Bud Balone for five minutes and you get the picture.

He knows his own mind. And he speaks it, without hesitation.

"All pilots are egotistical (expletive deleted)," said Balone, 78. "I know. I am one."
