Sheriff's funding panel deserves public praise

The citizens' committee formed last year to develop a funding mechanism for the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office released its recommendations last week. What happens with them is up to elected officials throughout the county, and ultimately to voters themselves. What they do remains to be seen.....
