The play chronicles three decades of Jefferson's life at his plantation. It opens in 1793, almost 20 years after he wrote the Declaration of Independence. Now 50, Jefferson has resigned as Secretary of State. He is surrounded by a young Sally and his daughter, Patsy, who is about the same age.....
