Jefferson Co. to ask voters for hotel tax increase

Jefferson County Commissioners made official Wednesday plans to put a hotel tax hike on the May ballot.

The commission read the ordinance creating the measure for the second time and then approved sending it to voters.

If approved, the ballot measure will increase the county's transit occupancy....
