High court to rule on PERS today

Justices to decide if $8 billion in reforms by Legislature are legal

SALEM - The answer to Oregon's $8 billion question comes today.

Almost two years after the Legislature sliced public pension benefits in a series of cost-cutting reforms, the state Supreme Court will rule whether those moves were legal or a violation of contract rights.
