Jefferson County puts hotel tax hike on ballot

Jefferson County Commissioners voted Wednesday to put a measure increasing the county's transit-occupancy tax on the May ballot.

The measure calls for boosting the tax, which is mostly tagged onto hotel and motel bills, from 6 cents to 9 cents per dollar.

Tourists would pay 10 cents total....
