New Year's Eve opening sets record for gross sales at resort

The Hoodoo Ski Area reveled in record-breaking sales on New Year's Eve after opening last Friday, said Chuck Shepard, the ski area's owner.

The resort had a 27-inch base and three inches of new snow, according to the resort's Web site, www.hoodoo.com, on Monday.
