Local turnout stays at 85 percent

Anticipated record ballot numbers fail to materialize

Record-breaking turnout failed to materialize as Central Oregon voters cast ballots at levels only slightly higher than in the previous presidential race.

Turnout was 85 percent in Crook County, 81 percent in Deschutes County and 89 percent in Jefferson County as of 10:30 p.m.
