Sharon Starer doesn't travel without her wheelchair.

She's lugged the battery-powered, three-wheeled scooter to China, Europe, Mexico and the former Soviet Union.

Her travels have taught her how difficult it can be to get a seat at a restaurant or a ride in a taxi if you use a wheelchair.
