SUNRIVER - Jean Lane Smith of Eagle, Idaho, set a blistering pace on a warm day Monday at Sunriver Resort.

Smith shot a 3-over-par 75 and was four strokes ahead of the field after the first day of play in the Women's Western Golf Association's 26th National Senior Amateur.
