Sweeney, Romanick shoulder the load for Madras in both teams' opener

LA PINE - Gabe Sweeney carried the ball 19 times for 98 yards and Gavin Romanick added 72 yards and a touchdown on 22 rushes as Madras defeated La Pine 21-12 in a non-league Class 3A football game on Friday night.

It was the season opener for both teams.
