Carl Decker remembers seeing hard-packed dirt coming at him as he and his mountain bike suddenly parted ways on June 13, 2000.

Decker, a professional mountain biker, hadn't had many serious crashes to that point, but he knew this one was gonna be a doozy. He wasn't wrong.
