Locals hit balls way, way long

CROOKED RIVER RANCH - Mitch McDowell, Dick Chatfield, Lindsay Reeve and David Green had their long-distance smiles on when local qualifying for the National Long Drive Championship ended just before dark Friday night.

McDowell launched a best drive of 413 yards, 8 inches to win the men's open....
