Public meetings set on speed limits

SALEM - An end is in sight in the state's process of considering whether to boost speed limits on interstate freeways.

The Oregon Department of Transportation will release on Aug. 13 a list of recommendations where the maximum speeds should rise to 70 mph for cars and 65 mph for trucks.
