In a heartbeat, a life can change.

In less than half a second, Ivan and Lesley Eastwood's car swerved off the Santiam Pass and hit a tree on Nov. 12, 2003.

Lesley Eastwood, 56, died on impact. Ivan Eastwood was rushed to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center in Portland.
