Alfred E. Winter of LaPine died on Feb. 28 of natural causes. He was 83.

Mr. Winter, also known as "Uncle Bob" was born on March 20, 1920, in Portland to Joseph K. and Maude Mae (Waddell) Winter.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1951, then he joined....
