Central Oregon 2012: Good jobs hard to find

The year is 2012, and the Central Oregon population has grown more than 16 percent, but more jobs are paying less. Waitressing, housekeeping, and cashier jobs abound. The increased population requires more nurses, but such higher-paying jobs are far less in demand.
