Couple's premiums nearly triple after insurance claim

When Walt and Diana Kirkwood returned to their La Pine home after a vacation in December 2001, water from an ice dam on their roof had seeped into their interior walls.

But the real shock came two years later, when their homeowners insurance nearly tripled after they filed a $2,566 claim to fix....
