Last Friday night, Dave Brush, 46, of Long Creek sat on an iron bench outside of a jewelry store at the Bend River Mall.

Brush was waiting for his wife to complete her holiday shopping.

"If we were shopping 10 hours, I would end up waiting 9 1/2 hours," Brush said.
