LAS VEGAS - Cody Jessee of Prineville rode his horse to a first-place finish Thursday night in the seventh round of the bareback event at the National Finals Rodeo.

Jessee earned a score of 88 to edge out Pete Hawkins of Weatherford, Texas, who scored an 85.
