October saw a sharp spike in taxes collected from hotel, motel and private lodging venues in Deschutes County when compared with the prior year.

Transient room taxes, the tax paid on overnight stays in hotel, motel and private accommodations, rose 28 percent, or $27,527, to $125,830 for October....
