After beating cancer, Westlund seeks re-election

SALEM - Newly minted state Sen. Ben Westlund, R-Tumalo, will seek election to the seat next year.

Westlund, 54, a former member of the state House, was appointed to the Senate in August after former Sen. Bev Clarno, R-Redmond, resigned to take a federal post in Seattle.
