Former Deschutes official Young dies

Albert "Abe" Young, a Bend resident for 57 years who served Deschutes County as a commissioner for more than a decade, died Tuesday at his home.

He was 88.

Born in Albert Lea, Minn., on April 22, 1915, Young was raised in Lemmon, S.D.

On Nov. 29, 1939, he was married to Thelma Sigmund....
