Fugitive black bear eludes police capture

Redmond police chased a bear through town Wednesday night, but the furry fugitive eluded capture.

About 9:40 p.m. several people told Officer Manny Diaz they'd seen a bear.

"I saw him, and he saw me," Diaz wrote in his log, "and the chase was on."
