Fugitive still on the run

Authorities are still hunting for James W. Layton, a 31-year-old fugitive who has eluded police in Bend at least once over the last two days.

Layton, of Bend, is wanted for the attempted murder of a Highway Patrol trooper at a car dealership in Lander, Wyo., on Aug. 11.
