Rain feels good, but dry conditions persist

Wet winter needed to ensure enough water for next year

The showers that fell on Central Oregon on Monday and Tuesday barely made a ripple in the region's dry year.

This year marks the fourth summer of below average precipitation for the Deschutes Basin, said Kyle Gorman, region manager for the state Water Resources Department.
