Limits on medical lawsuits may go to voters

After watching the U.S. Senate shelve a bill that sought to cap medical malpractice lawsuit awards, the Oregon Medical Association is considering taking the issue directly to Oregon voters.

Senators voted 49-48 not to proceed further with the "Patients First Act of 2003" in early July.....
