Tuition hikes get approval from state

Despite protests from students and concerns from some board members, the state Board of Higher Education approved tuition increases Friday at a meeting in Bend but delayed when they will take effect.

The latest changes, which relate to per-credit charges, will be deferred until Jan. 2004.
